Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leak: Slimmer, Sleeker, and (Almost) Dustproof

Samsung’s next foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, just got its unofficial debut courtesy of some hands-on photos. The big takeaway? This thing is thin. Like, “how did you fit a SIM tray in there?” thin. At 4.5mm when open, it’s not just out-slimming last year’s Fold 6, but it’s now gunning for Google and Oppo’s title as slimmest foldable in the game.
Leaked photos reveal a striking “Blue Shadow” colorway and new, blinged-out silver camera rings.
The device has a svelte, larger chassis but keeps battery life steady - expect up to 40 hours and 28 minutes on a charge.
IP48 rating means it’ll handle splashes and dips, but still isn’t fully dustproof.
The Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are set to headline Samsung’s July 9 Unpacked event - and maybe we’ll see a new trifold foldable make its debut, too.
Stay tuned: If you want the coolest-looking phone at the coffee shop (and aren’t scared of a little dust), this could be the year to go foldable.

Apple’s Foldable iPhone is Actually Happening

Get your folding fingers ready: Apple has finally kicked its long-teased foldable iPhone into prototyping, with plans for a grand entrance in 2026, according to DigiTimes. That means we’re still at least two TikTok generations away from seeing Tim Cook flexing a bendy iPhone on stage.
The first foldable iPhone is in the “P1” prototype phase as of June, with multiple rounds of trial runs ahead.
Foxconn and Pegatron - Apple’s assembly BFFs - are set to put the device through its paces once the prototypes are done.
Expect a full year of testing and tweaking (P1 to P3 to EVT to DVT…) before mass production.
Meanwhile, the foldable iPad has been benched thanks to tricky displays, high costs, and a collective consumer “meh.”
So, barring any surprises, Apple’s first foldable will debut with the iPhone 18 family in Fall 2026.
